International Association of Charities Elects New President in Rome

The International Association of Charities gathered in Rome to elect a new president. More than 150 delegates from the group, the oldest lay association in the history of volunteerism, discussed the association's most important issues. They are focused on topics like climate and helping the poor. The theme of the meeting was "Citizens of the World, on the Road United in Hope." A member of the executive board of the International Association of Charities, Suzanne Johnson, joins to tell us more about this assembly in Rome and the election of the new president. The association is inspired by the example of St. Vincent De Paul. Johnson shares more about the history and mission of the association. They are involved in many projects to help and support the poor. Currently in Guatemala and Mexico, Johnson is carrying out a special project. She discusses this with us.
