Pope Francis Launches '24 Hours for the Lord,' Highlighting Divine Mercy and Forgiveness

Pope Francis has officially initiated the '24 Hours for the Lord' event at St. Pius V Parish in Rome, a profound call to the faithful for reflection, confession, and experiencing God's inexhaustible forgiveness. This year's theme, 'Walking in the new life,' encourages believers to rediscover their innate purity and progress spiritually, amidst the sacred Lenten period.

In his message, Pope Francis shared, "The Lord removes the ashes from the ember of the soul, cleanses those inner stains that prevent us from trusting in God, from embracing our brothers, from loving ourselves. He forgives everything." This reminder stresses the liberating and transformative nature of confession, urging individuals to open their hearts to God's grace.

The Holy Father personally participated in the penitential liturgy, hearing confessions and demonstrating the mercy God extends to all, irrespective of the sins committed. Pope Francis emphasized the need for sincere repentance and divine help in healing, highlighting that true renewal and freedom from sin's shackles are solely attainable through God's intervention.

As the '24 Hours for the Lord' initiative is observed worldwide, Pope Francis's resonant message invites everyone to confidently seek the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
